SHARE YOUR STIMULUS

Hi friends! Guess what! We are just shy of raising $3,000 to help out our LGBTQ+ friends in the Dallas area who have lost their jobs or been furloughed during this pandemic. Share Your Stimulus is a project The Promote Love Movement is working on with a few friends in the area to help out our community. The concept is simple:

  • If you need the stimulus check, please keep it!

  • If you can share your stimulus check, a portion or in full, please donate!

  • If you are a part of the LGBTQ+ community, DFW local and you or your business need a bit of help, please apply and share your story anonymously!

We know that sharing funds is not an indefinite solution, but our goal is to provide a one-time shot of inspiration and encouragement to help get those that need it through this difficult time. If that person in need is you, please know that we stand with you, we see you, and we want you to know that your community is here to support you. Apply or donate here: https://shareyourstimulusdfw.com/ We couldn’t do this without you.

REAL PEOPLE WITH REAL STORIES:

“Just a month after expanding and renovating Pegasus Tattoo Studios in Feb of 2020 (to accommodate an all female team and relaunch officially as a feminist, LGBTQ+ friendly, safe space tattoo studio), we were forced to close due to the current COVID pandemic. Though we were “forced” to close, all members of our team agree that limiting the close quarters exposure and mass closing of many businesses is the necessary move.

Doing what we feel is the right thing, though, has introduced the challenge of qualifying for/receiving unemployment (as there are many ways a self employed person can file their taxes potentially making them ineligible).

For the most part, many of us have gone without any income since March 15th, and also don’t foresee reopening as long as we feel that data and reliable info suggests it would be dangerous to do so (even if the state decides to allow tattoo studios to re-open).” - ANONYMOUS

“I haven't worked since the week of March 5th. Im finally making way with unemployment this week but its not enough . We are conserving as much as we can , but the bills are piling up . My partner today just sat and cried in my arms . All I could do is hold her and tell her everything is gonna work out. Its honestly very stressful not knowing what's next and when this will end.” - ANONYMOUS
